A man died after he lost control of his motorcycle on Interstate 64 near Huntington Thursday night.
Wilmer G. Ditton, 71, was traveling westbound near the Fifth Street exit when his vehicle ran off of the roadway and into the median, said Pfc. Scott Hudson with the Huntington Police Department. He was a resident of Anderson Island in the state of Washington.
The accident happened about 6:30 p.m. Portions of the east and west bound lanes where the crash happened remained closed until about 11 p.m. Thursday.
Ditton was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. That crash remains under investigation.
A man is critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Cabell County.
It happened on I-64, just west of the Fifth Street Exit, around 6:30pm Thursday.
Dispatchers say the motorcycle rider lost control of the bike and ran into the median.
The victim was thrown from the bike and rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
