Sarah E. Halstead, 28, of Foster is charged with malicious wounding, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies say Halstead stabbed Jason Eric Hall, 35, inside his home on Cordell Court in Chelyan.
Initially, deputies thought that the stabbing had occurred during a home invasion, but Hall then told authorities that Halstead was his girlfriend and that she had stabbed him during an argument, the release said.
Detectives arrested Halstead in Boone County. She is currently in the South Central Regional Jail and will be arraigned on Tuesday.
