Authorities discovered a meth lab in South Charleston and are pursuing leads about the identity of the suspects responsible.
Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies and a state trooper responded to a call Saturday evening that there was a meth lab in the area of Elm Drive, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department. They found a small camping trailer in a secluded area that contained several meth-making ingredients and pieces of equipment.
A lab technician was called to the scene, and the Drug Enforcement Administration was contacted to send a laboratory cleanup crew.
The camper and the area were unoccupied when authorities arrived, but deputies have leads and are working to identify suspects, the release said.
