TRAGEDY ON TURNPIKE Child Killed and Eight Injured When Vehicle Flips Over

A tragic single-vehicle accident on the West Virginia Turnpike in Mercer County has claimed the life of a 7-year-old child and injured eight people, State Police said.
The Ford Explorer involved in the accident was headed northbound about 12:30 a.m. Friday near the Camp Creek exit when the driver lost control and the vehicle flipped and rolled several times, State Police said.
State Police said the child was killed in the accident, and two other occupants were thrown from the vehicle.
A total of eight people were taken to three different hospitals. No information was available on their conditions.
