Service was restored Friday morning to Frontier Communications’ customers affected by an outage in the Bigley Avenue to the Mink Shoals area, a company spokesman said. As many as 3,000 residential and business customers and some cellular telephone sites lost service Wednesday when a contractor involved in a construction project at Spring and Bullitt streets severed two underground cables, the company said in a previous news release. Company spokesman Dan Page said crews worked around the clock to repair the damage and service was returned to customers about 11 a.m. Friday. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frontier Communications customers in the Bigley Avenue to the Mink Shoals area could have service returned by mid-morning Friday, a company spokesman said. The contractor was involved in a construction project at Spring and Bullitt streets in Charleston when the incident happened, according to a news release from Frontier. “This is a major service outage that is affecting residential and business customers and some cellular telephone sites,” Frontier General Manager Dennis Bloss said in the release.
