As part of Thornill Ford Lincoln's Christmas in July sales event, area residents wrote a letter to the man in red (Santa) and explained in detail exactly why they should win the Lincoln Town Car.
“We put together a committee of citizens to read all the letters and choose the person they thought needed the car most,” Store manager, Butch Nisbet said.
Jeremy Podunavac won that Lincoln Town Car. Brenda York, a friend of Jeremy's, submitted the letter on his behalf, explaining that he is a “single parent who works very hard every day at a low income job, and he is a wonderful father to a child with disabilities.” She continued by saying "This car would make a huge impact in the lives of Jeremy and his son, as he uses his income tax checks every year to keep his vehicle running in order to take his son to his many out of town and out of state doctor or hospital visits.”
Nine finalists in the contest received gift cards from a local grocery store, courtesy of the dealership.
“Christmas in July was a tremendous success,” Nisbet said. “We love being able to help those in tremendous need—that’s something we’ve built our business on, and that’s something we will continue to do.”
