A man who hit a police cruiser during a chase in Huntington Wednesday night is charged with ten different counts, including attempted malicious wounding of a police officer.
Huntington police say they tried to pull over Nicholas Turley for a registration violation in the 1900 block of 8th Avenue when he took off.
Court documents show he was driving a truck that was reported stolen from a used car lot on Route 60 last week. Turley drove down the 1000 block of 8 1/2 alley and backed into a police cruiser that was parked. About two blocks later, he crashed into a truck. One woman was hurt in that accident. He fled the scene on foot and was caught about a block later. Police say he admitted to being under the influence of a prescription drug and marijuana. He also had a baggie of marijuana and a pipe in his sock.
He's charged with fleeing while DUI, receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle, attempt to commit malicious wounding on a police officer, hit and run causing injury or death, obstructing, possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, no insurance, no registration sticker, and fleeing no vehicle.
He's being held on $100,000 bond at the Western Regional Jail.
