'Tis the season to be growing pot and the West Virginia State Police are on the lookout for marijuana plants in rural parts of our region.
State Troopers began the eradication Monday with officers on the ground and in a helicopter scoping out the rural areas. Police found close to 75 thousand dollars worth of the illegal plant in Cabell County.
While prescription pills and cocaine are still major drugs confiscated, Trooper Shane Smith says marijuana is still a big problem in our region.
The eradication will continue through September in Cabell, Kanawha and Wayne Counties.
