PURSE THIEF Purse Stolen While Woman Pays For Gas

Carol Miles was only about 20 feet away from her car as she went up to pay for a quick fill-up at the Kroger gas station on Route 60 a couple days ago.
"The people were by the air pump, and they were just waiting for somebody to go pay for their gas."
Stealing her purse through an open window.
"I couldn't believe with all the commotion I couldn't hear them."
They may have gotten away with the purse full of valuables, but things started looking up when she got a phone call from her local credit union.
"The next morning he did go to my bank, and tried to cash the check, but thank goodness for the wonderful people at the bank, they were able to try to stop him as much as they could."
She says he did leave information at the bank that could help deputies. That night, a woman who found her purse, along Route 60 contact her through Facebook.
"When you go from someone who's very dishonest, who takes your purse, to someone who did find the purse and turn it in, I think it's remarkable that there are good people out there and caring people," says Miles
While they continue to track down the thief or thieves, Miles won't be taking chances anytime soon. She says she'll keep her purse to her side and lock her doors, no matter how close she is to her car!
