SUMMER STORMS Assistance Webinars Planned To Address Summer Storm Aftermath

The West Virginia Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will hold applicant webinars on July 31st at 10am and 2pm and on August 1st at 2pm.
The webinars are intended for public officials who will be responsible for managing recover operations, receiving and accounting for federal and state funds. Auditors, public works directors, road supervisors and emergency managers are urged to attend.
The counties included in the briefing are as follows: Barbour, Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Doddridge, Fayette, Gilmer, Grant, Greenbrier, Hardy, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Kanawha, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, Marshall, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Pendleton, Pleasants, Pocahontas, Preston, Putnam, Raleigh, Randolph, Ritchie, Roane, Summers, Tucker, Tyler, Upshur, Wayne, Webster, Wetzel, Wirt, Wood, and Wyoming.
These briefings will provide information to assist residents in accessing FEMA's Public Assistance Program (PA) and Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). The PA program assists local governments and certain private non-profits with restoring public infrastructure to pre-disaster conditions, while the HMGP provides funds for mitigation projects that will eliminate future risk to lives and property from natural hazards.
