A Putnam County pet store owner will be holding an adopt-a-thon this weekend to help adopt out some of the dozens of cats turned over to a Roane County animal shelter.
Just last week a man in Spencer turned over 125 cats to the shelter. Apparently caring for the animals just got out of control and he eventually called the shelter for help.
They will be adopting out some of those cats and for $30 dollars you can get the animal spayed or neutered, along with a starter kit that includes litter, a litter box, cat food, and bowls.
Peyton Law Firm will be paying for the spaying and neutering. The adopt-a-thon will be held this Friday, July 27th and Saturday, July 28th at Valley Pets in Teays Valley, and you can check out Roane County animal shelter's website if there is a particular cat you would like to adopt and Barbara will try to pick up that particular feline for you.
Barbara is also asking for donations for heart worm and flee medications for the animals.
