President Obama signed a Federal Disaster Declaration for West Virginia on Monday.
The order opens the door for federal money to help in the local recovery efforts from summer storms that rocked our region in late June and early July.
Severe storms and straight-line winds caused a lot of damage and left most of West Virginia without power for days.
Appalachian Power says the storms cost them about $56 million dollars just in West Virginia alone.
