A Cedar Grove man is in jail after police say he allegedly tried to choke a Cedar Grove cop who was sent to check on his welfare.
Lt. A. J. Roop says Jerry Withrow,48, screamed he was going to kill Roop and reached thru the window of the cruiser and tried to choke him late Sunday night.
Roop ended up tasing Withrow twice before he was cuffed. He is charged with battery on a police officer.
