Mountain State University has lost its general accreditation.
The University, located in Beckley, says it will appeal the commission's decision.
The Higher Learning Commission says the school does not meet its criteria for leadership, resources, planning, and oversight.
The commission's decision is effective August 27th. The school has until July 27th to appeal.
