Heat had been the big worry as sunday's power restoration began, but then temperatures plunged from the 90's to the 60's, accompanied by violent winds at lightening that killed numerical repair gains made in Kanawha County Sunday.
Trees smashed houses and cars in Kanawha City and put residents who just got power back Thursday in the dark again. Lonnie Sears car appeared totaled by a huge branch. Beating the heat was still a problem Sunday.
The easy repairs are done. Some now need four wheelers and tree climbers to reach the problem It was a frustrating end to the weekend for a small army of linemen, but at least there are enough of them here now to tackle the new problems
