Summer storms are pounding West Virginia and Kentucky.
Dispatchers say the strong wings knocked power lines across the west bound lanes of I-64, near the 5th Street Exit in Cabell County. It had to be closed until crews cleanuped the mess.
Eyewitness News has also been told that all of Huntington's viaducts flooded. Police want to warn drivers not to attempt to drive through roads that are flooded.
The severe weather also caused several problems in Kanawha County. I-64 near the Oakwood Exit flooded just minutes after storm moved in.
There are also several reports of trees down in St. Albans and Kanawha City. Two of those reports involved trees that fell onto houses. So far, there are no reports of injuries.
A spokesperson for AEP says there are now 21,000 people without power in Kanawha County.
The region is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 8pm. Stay tuned to Eyewitness News at 6pm for further information.
