MORE POWER OUTAGES Severe Storms Sunday Night Create More Power Outages

After severe storms ripped through the region Friday night leaving a path of debris largely including downed trees and power lines, a second round of storms Sunday night is causing more problems. Storms rolled through beginning in southern Ohio around 6:30 in the evening and moved southeast bringing a line of severe storms causing damaging winds, large hail, and lots of lightning.
AEP Ohio released the following statement Sunday night: "By 6:00 p.m. July 1, AEP Ohio had restored power to more than 250,000 of the 660,000 customers affected by the catastrophic storms that moved through the state June 29. A line of new storms has resulted in 20,000 additional customer outages this evening."

Crews are still asking customers to be patient while they restore power to all areas over the next several days.
