Appalachian Power has restored power to about 40,000 people so far, but more than 290,000 are still in the dark. Here are some of the estimated restoration times: Tuesday July 3rd: Lincoln County Wednesday, July 4th: Wayne County Thursday, July 5th: Fayette, Jackson, Logan, Mason, Mingo, Raleigh and Wyoming Counties Friday, July 6th: Cabell, Kanawha, McDowell, Mercer, Putnam, Summers and Wayne Counties Saturday, July 7th: Boone County, Clay County as well as some remote parts of Kanawha County ------------------------------------------- American Electric Power has released estimated times of restoration for customers in the West Virginia area. According to an AEP spokesperson, 75 miles-per-hour winds and heavy rain caused extensive outages across a large portion of Appalachian Power's service territory. In West Virginia, 318,000 of the company's half-million customers are without electric service as a result of the storm. More than 50 substations are out of service because of damage to the company's transmission system. More than 1,500 workers are clearing known safety hazards and working to repair outages that affect critical infrastructure, such as hospitals and water and sewer stations. Line workers are traveling from states as far away as Missouri and Alabama to join the restoration effort. The company has released the dates the power is estimated to be restored. Lincoln County is expected to be restored by Tuesday night, July 3rd. Wayne County is expected to be restored by Wednesday night, July 4th. Fayette, Jackson, Logan, Mason, Mingo, Raleigh and Wyoming Counties are expected to be restored by Thursday night, July 5th. Cabell, Kanawha, McDowell, Mercer, Putnam, Summers and Wayne Counties are expected to be restored by Friday night, July 6th.
