A delegate from Logan County is facing domestic battery and assault charges.
State police arrested Rupert Phillips, 43, of Logan on Saturday.
Troopers say Phillips and a woman got into a fight. He allegedly pushed the woman, causing her to fall to the ground. The woman had to have stitches, according to police.
Phillips is out on bond.
The Logan County democrat is seeking re-election to the 24th district of the House of Delegates.
