A fight between two young girls ends when a Kanawha County deputy uses a taser on one of those girls sending her to the hospital.
It all happened around 9:30 Thursday night at an apartment in Marmet. It's there a female deputy tased an 11 year old girl and now that girl's mother is outraged
Cassey Pettry says seeing her daughter Alexis get tased is one of the scariest experiences she's ever been through . She tells us she feels the deputy used excessive force. She says her daughter was sitting outside of their apartment listening to music when she heard her scream for help. She ran outside and saw her daughter fighting with another young girl in the parking lot. We're told the girls were fighting over a boy.
A deputy driving by saw the fight and stopped to help out. Sheriff Mike Rutherford says that deputy asked the girls to stop and when they didn't she used what force she deemed necessary to stop the girls from hurting themselves. The sheriff says the deputy did not know how old the girls were. Alexis fell and hit her head after being tased and spent most of the night in the hospital.
Sheriff Rutherford says that it is not against policy to tase juveniles when deputies deem the choice necessary.
