AARP is encouraging senior citizens and low-income West Virginians to attend public hearings on another utility rate increase.
The West Virginia Public Service Commission is considering a request for a $41 dollar annual increase from Mountaineer Gas.
Customers would pay an additional $3.40 a month which would equate to nearly $13 million dollars in additional revenue every year for the utility.
A series of public hearings will be held starting next week.
The first will be held in Charleston on Monday, June 25th at 6:30PM at the West Viriginia Public Service Commission.
There will also be one on July 5th in Huntington at the Pullman Plaza Hotel.
