Two homeless men were arrested minutes after allegedly robbing a bank in the Charleston Town Center Mall today. Cops tracked them with the help of dropped bills and discarded clothing disguises this morning.
The arrests came quickly with a chase that littered 3 blocks with stolen money from the United Bank branch and the robbers' clothing in an apparent effort to change appearances. The holdup was reported about 8:30 this morning
Police patrol units quickly caught up with 40-year-old Billy Reed and 20-year-old Anthony Williams . Some of the loot was dropped in a parking lot near the Embassy Suites.
They are both held on a 50,000 dollar cash bond on robbery charges. The robbers forced their way into the closed bank at gunpoint. Police now believe one weapon was real, but the other was a water pistol.
