More than 1,600 people in the East Bank area of Kanawha County are without phone service Sunday evening.
Frontier Communications say there is a line down that is causing the problem and they are working to restore the phone service. Metro 911 dispatchers say the outage is affecting customers with the "595" and "442" phone exchanges.
