A Bluefield-based military police unit is heading for Afghanistan later this summer.
The 304th military police detachment is no stranger to overseas duty.
An August 23rd departure ceremony is set for the army reserve unit. The 304th will spend about nine months in Afghanistan.
The soldiers will spend time at Fort Bush, Texas, training before they head overseas. The departure ceremony will be held at Bluefield High School.
