Saying goodbye is never easy, especially to those who died in such a heinous crime. On Thursday, dozens of people gathered for a vigil to remember a family found murdered. They gathered at the National Guard Armory in Rainelle in Greenbrier County to light candles and remember the victims of a crime that's truly shaken so many. "Awful, it's like a nightmare that you don't want to wake up to," says Amber Martin's aunt, Ruby Shaffer. Gone but not forgotten. Tears and lit candles, commemorating the four lives lost in a horrific crime. "It's been rough. It's been a nightmare really. I mean, I can't sleep at night," says Martin's father, Bruce Martin. Those at the vigil were remembering Steven Hendrix, his girlfriend, Amber Martin, and his two young children, Dakota, 6, and Kaylee, 4. All were found dead in the woods in Nicholas County last weekend. "I hope the one that done it rots in hell," says Shaffer. A tremendous tragedy that many are still trying to cope with. Troopers arrested James Roy Belknap on Monday. They say it appears Belknap killed the family over a drug debt he allegedly owed Steven Hendrix. While it's too soon for no more tears, loved ones will lean on one another and pray for peace of mind to move on from this unspeakable crime. "It's good to see a communtiy come together like this, not over a tragic event like this. But it's good to see a community come together and say 'hey, we're here, when tragedy does strike, we're here,'" says Pastor Randy Mann of Grace Chapel Church. Belknap is expected to be in court Monday in Nicholas County for a preliminary hearing. MORE NEWS FROM EYEWITNESS NEWS
