Memorial Day Weekend is a popular time for people to start hitting the water, but it took a deadly turn for a man camping with his family.
Investigators with the National Park Service say 60-year-old Eddie Ramsey Senior was ferry camping gear across the New River Saturday evening when his boat filled with water and capsized.
Ramsey's son, who was also on the boat, was able to make it out of the water, but some family members had to pull Ramsey out.
Family members tried CPR, but when paramedics got there, Ramsey was pronounced dead.
Ramsey's body has been sent to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
