A former councilman for the city of Huntington has died.
Jim Ritter represented the West Moreland neighborhood during his two terms from 1989 to 2000 and then from 2003 to 2008. He did not run for re-election this year due to health concerns. Ritter fought a long battle with cancer. '
"He was a dedicated servant to citizens of the city of Huntington and would do anything for them," said Barbara Nelson, City Clerk.
Ritter was 67 years old. Funeral arraignments have not been announced.
