We now know the names of the father and son involved in a fight that took a violent turn Monday morning.
Kanawha County deputies say Cable Shamblin, 20, allegedly stabbed his father Larry Shamblin, 65 in the chest with a knife around 6:30am at a home on Derrick's Creek Road.
Deputies say the eldest Shamblin allegedly fired several shots before they arrived on scene.
Larry Shamblin was taken to a Charleston hospital with a stab wound to his upper chest.
No charges have been filed at this time.

Kanawha County Deputies arrived to a house on Derrick's Creek Road around 6:30 Monday morning to find a man had allegedly stabbed his father in the chest area, while the father had allegedly fired shots at his son.
Deputies don't know what caused the fight.
They say that a family member took the father to the hospital to get the wound checked out.
