Greenbrier Resort owner Jim Justice has been trying to persuade Tiger Woods to play in his golf tournament for three years.
This week, he got his man.
Justice says Woods' decision to play in the Greenbrier Classic is a big win for the tournament.
Last year, about 213-thousand people attended the Classic. PGA Tour numbers show when Woods is in the field, a tournament's attendance goes up by about 30 percent. However, Greenbrier Classic Tournament Director Tim McNeely says ticket sales will probably be cut off if they reach 230-thousand.
Woods joins a field that includes major champions Phil Mickelson, John Daly, Justin Leonard, Jim Furyk and Lucas Glover. But the visionary who dreamed of staging a first class PGA tour event in the Mountain State says Woods takes things to a whole new level.
