A Boone County school was put on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after police responded to a murder nearby.
Assistant Superintendent Jeff Huffman confirmed Sherman Elementary was on lockdown earlier in the day and it has since been lifted. Students were released at their regular time.
Sherman Junior and Senior High were also put on a modified lockdown, but then released at their normal time.
