A Huntington man faces felony charges after police say he drove drunk and then tried to buy his way out of being arrested.
Court documents say Gifford Dale Perdue II, 28, of Huntington was caught driving under the influence in the 1500 block of 12th Street in Huntington early Friday morning.
That's where police ay Perdue allegedly weaved in and out of his lane, nearly hitting parked cars. Officers found him smelling of alcohol, with bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech.
The criminal complaint also states Perdue offered to pay the arresting officer his overtime salary in exchange for not being charged with DUI.
Perdue is charged with DUI and bribery in official and political matters.
