"I am so excited it's this hot, I love summer!" said Diane Marks.
Summer is technically more than two months away. But apparently Mother Nature didn't get that memo. The temperature soared Thursday making it the warmest day of the year.
"I think it's fantastic! I think it's am excellent opportunity and people just perk up when the sun is shining," said Janet Briscoe.
Janet Briscoe and her daughter Marie Castro spent their lunch hour strolling the boulevard and soaking in the sun.
"I enjoy the warm weather and getting out of the office on lunch," said Marie Castro.
We even found some runners who didn't let the heat stop them from pounding the pavement.
"It's the only time of day I had to run so I had to get it in!" said Marks.
It's important to remember to hydrate and listen to your body if you ARE going to head outside in the summer-like heat.
"Know your limits. Go but don't overgo. Do but don't overdo. When you start feeling hot or dizzy, stop, rest. Heat exhaustion comes on pretty fast," said Briscoe who works at the Health Department.
"Sometimes we dump water with bunches of ice in it and we pour it on us to keep us cool!" said Marks.
So far it seems there is only one complaint about this early heat.
"I would love to be sitting by a pool enjoying it!" said Castro.
For now, we'll have to settle for boating ON the water, or drinking water from a bottle!
