FATAL FIRE Man Dead, Firefighter Injured In House Fire

A Johnson County, Kentucky man is dead and a firefighter in intensive care after a fire at a home in Paintsville.
The fire broke out around 12:30 Sunday morning at a home in the 1100 block of Short Street.
When firefighters got on the scene, they found 46-year-old John Meade inside of the house.
Meade was taken to Paul B Hall Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
A Paintsville firefighter was also injured and is currently in the ICU unit at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
No word on what started the fire, but arson investigators have been called to the scene.
