With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, "Into the Woods" is a challenging production for any theater company to handle.
But George Washington High School is not only tackling the show, the school has taken it on the road to perform at the Charleston Civic Center Little Theater.
This group has been rehearsing for months to bring Sondheim's musical fairy tale to life. But the stars say they've been very pleased with how it has come together...and think it is much more than just another "high school" production.
Director Nick Staples says the move wouldn't have been possible without the help of sponsors. He said Brooks Run Mining, a subsidiary of Alpha Natural Resources, played a major role in making "Into the Woods' at the Civic Center a reality.
The cast ranges from freshmen to seniors...for those who are finishing up their high school careers, they say playing "Into The Woods" at the Little Theater is a great way to go out.
