Neighbors in one community in Charleston are breathing a collective sigh of relief after police make a bust in a series of burglaries.
About half of the homes on Bryant Road, just off of Lucado Road, were burglarized over the past few weeks. Police say it didn't just happen all in one day either, they say the burglar came back four separate times to the small street. But police have now made an arrest in the burglaries and they say the suspect lives on the street too.
Police arrested Ryan Fondrliak. They say on four dates in March and April he broke into four of his neighbors homes, allegedly stealing guns, computers and other electronics. Police say he would go through back doors or windows into the homes during the day when no one was home.
On Tuesday police also recovered some of the things that had been stolen. Neighbors say its a relief because they've been on high alert.
"People were putting extra locks on they were barricading their back doors a little better and like I said we started to actually walk out and do patrols on our own. Just trying to protect the rest of the neighborhood because we all have to live together," Edward Wieland says.
Police also arrested 35-year-old Melissa Dixon of eastern Kanawha County for felony transferring and receiving stolen property and have issued an arrest warrant for 41-year-old Jeff Dixon for the same charge.
