After months of work to build the St. Jude Dream Home, volunteers are putting down the hammers and picking up a marker.
It's a small tool that is making a powerful impact. They're writing heart-felt messages that will last for years to come.
"For all the patients, and cancer survivors, and people battling cancer. All of these well wishes for people are always here," said St. Jude Representative, Morgan Kuhn.
All of the people at the floor signing, have helped make the St. Jude Dream Home a reality.
"It warms the heart. It makes you proud of a company that has that type of vision and insight," said Richard Dunbar of Shaw Industries.
They're leaving their mark on the home that was built with love. They're writing their names, well wishes, and prayers on the floor of the home for kids at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
"You have these big, tough men in here writing stuff for kids that they've never met but they're here and they've come together for these kids and it's such an awesome thing," said Kuhn.
"This way your name is here forever. And we're covering it with carpet tomorrow," said Cynthia Hale of Nitro Carpet Outlet.
The Dream Home is almost a reality with just a few weeks of work remaining. "A whole lot of people have come together to make a contribution and everyone's heart is in the right direction," said builder, Dave Hobba.
They're hopeful their work will one day help eradicate childhood cancer forever. Until then, they're leaving a lasting reminder of the love that went into making the dream house a home.
The Dream Home will be given away live on Eyewitness News June 10. Tickets for the home are $100.
You can get your ticket at the Nitro, Eleanor and Point Pleasant branches of Peoples Federal Credit Union, Burdette Camping Center, or any participating Good Neighbor Pharmacy.
They're also available at www.dreamhome.org or over the phone at 1-800-592-1582.
