Jim Booton served the people of Wayne County for than two decades. Monday morning, Booton lost his battle with cancer.
Booton served several terms on the Wayne County Commission and most recently was the County Clerk. An accomplishment Booton is best known for, the 20-10 project. The project is getting water lines to rural parts of the county. Booton also worked on getting the runway expanded at the Tri-State Airport, where he served on the Board.
Booton's viewing will be Thursday, 5:00 at Morris Funeral Home in Wayne. The funeral is Friday at 2:00.
