Two people narrowly make it out safely from a burning home in Chelyan Friday morning.
Firefighters got the call about the fire around 5:30am on 119 Grady Road. A woman at the home was woken up by the smoke detector going off.
She went to check on her 93-year old father in the back bedroom and discovered the fire starting to surround his bed.
The family says they had just replaced the batteries in the smoke detector last week during the time change.
