LINCOLN FLOODS AGAINfrom Eyewitness News Online Less Than Two Weeks After Major Flooding, Heavy Rains Hit The Area Again Reported by: Videographer: John Tincher Web Producer: Ashley Smith Reported: Mar. 15, 2012 5:44 PM EDT Updated: Mar. 15, 2012 5:51 PM EDT

"It just makes you want to pack up and leave but where can you go?" said Vickii Adkins from Griffithsville. Heavy rains Thursday morning left many roads, yards, and even homes flooded in parts of Lincoln County. Route 3 in Yawkey was water covered in many spots. Even the Lincoln County Paramedics Station in Yawkey was flooded. "It takes so little rain here it seems to come over the creek banks," said Paramedic John Browning. Schools dismissed at noon but cars lined the street waiting for the flooding to recede so they could reach their children. As of 4:10 p.m. Thursday, 40 kids were still waiting to be picked up from Duval Middle and Elementary School. Any students remaining were offered dinner and staff said they would remain at the school until each student leaves. Those living here say the worst part is they just got done cleaning up from the last storm less than two weeks ago. Debris piles from the severe storms two weeks ago are now floating through the county. Now people will have to wait for the water to go down and the cleanup will continue. Those we spoke to all agree there’s a simple way to solve this problem. "That's all that needs to be done is just the creek beds need to be cleaned out," said Adkins. "I think some creek irrigation, clean them out a little better, that might help," said Browning. Until then, it’s just a watching and waiting game. Watching the water rise, and waiting for it to go down. MORE NEWS FROM EYEWITNESS NEWS
