Two year old Joshua "Toren" McKinney left the hospital Thursday afternoon after a terrifying ordeal. He was born five months premature, he's blind in one eye, and has endured eight surgeries. But after Wednesday night, he's truly lucky to be alive. It was nothing short of a nightmare for Toren's parents at Sable Point Apartments in Putnam County. Toren's dad, Joshua McKinney, says he and Toren's mom were cooking dinner and doing laundry, while Toren was playing in the living room. They said they cracked a window about four inches to let in some cool air. No one was prepared for what happened next. "I went into the kitchen to get a drink, next think I knew I turned around and he was gone and I started yelling, Brandy he fell out the window," said Joshua McKinney. There was no screen in the window. Torn fell three floors, nearly 30 feet to the ground and landed on his head. "I really thought he broke his neck, there's going to be head trauma, or I'm not going to have my baby anymore," said Toren's mother, Brandy Simpson. Toren was alive and crying and rushed to the hospital. But amazingly he didn't break any bones and literally walked away without a scratch. "He just keeps bouncing back and going. And I believe you're right. He must be a miracle in his own," said McKinney. A miracle and a blessing to his parents. "I wasn't very religious before this all happened...but now I found my reasons to go," said McKinney. Brandy Simpson says the first thing she's going to do when she gets home is put screens up in her windows. MORE NEWS FROM EYEWITNESS NEWS
