One man is dead and another man is charged in his killing. It's the result of an alleged fight over a woman.

Brian King is charged with second degree murder. While being hauled off to jail, he told Eyewitness News that he acted in self defense.

Police say he stabbed 23-year old Roy Gilliam in the chest after Gilliam allegedly discovered his girlfriend was with King. That's when Gilliam allegedly tracked the two down along Hewett Creek Road in Jeffrey. At that point, a deadly fight between the two men unfolded.

Gilliam's uncle is shocked over the news. He says Gilliam didn't deserve to die. "I loved him. You know, what you see is what you get. And he's going to be missed greatly," said Gregory Gilliam.

Kings admitted to police that he fought Gilliam, but he did not admit to stabbing him. But that's not enough for Gilliam's family. They want justice for the man they loved. "I want the truth to come out. I want him prosecuted fully. He took a young life, someone that's full of life. And I'll follow up on it and see that justice is done," said Gilliam.

King is charged with second degree murder.
