Investigators at the scene say the crane hit the overpass. fell off the flatbed and toppled across the road.
Parts of the exit have since reopened.
The DOH is inspecting the to overpass to make sure the accident didn't cause any damage to the bridge.

Metro 911 Dispatchers say both ramps of Interstate 64 are shutdown at the Institute exit. They say a crane struck the underside of the bridge and fell off the truck that was carrying it.
