A car fire on the third floor of the United Bank building in downtown Charleston was extinguished, but not before causing quite a stir during the morning rush hour. More than half a dozen fire trucks responded, and traffic was shut blocked on Court Street between Quarrier and Virginia, as a crew on a ladder truck put out the fire.
The call came in around 7:15 AM this morning and the fire was put quickly put out. The usually heavily traveled Court Street was blocked, but people packed the streets watching the crews get to work. No word what caused the fire nor are there any reports of any injuries.
