Tax time is right around the corner and West Virginia officials are encouraging taxpayers to take advantage of free online filing services.
The state in partnership with the Free File Alliance is giving 70% of West Virginians the fast and free access to file their taxes online.
Taxpayers who meet adjusted gross income requirements can visit www.WVTax.gov to prepare, complete and e-file state and federal returns at no cost.
Officials say refunds for electronic filed tax returns can be directly deposited into bank accounts in as little as a week. Refunds for paper-filed returns can take six to eight weeks.
