A man is arrested after an apparent standoff in Parkersburg.
Officers with the S.W.A.T. and Hostage Negotiation say they found David Courtney armed with a knife, and his 69-year-old mother at the top of the stairs in a home on Broad Street.
An officer tased Courtney to keep him from attacking the woman. The suspect ripped the probes from his chest and stomach, pushed his mother down the stairs and hit one of the officers; before barricading himself in a bedroom.
After two hours, a S.W.A.T. team was able to get Courtney to surrender.
Courtney was taken into custody and taken to the hospital for evaluation.
