Brandon Gray is charged with first-degree murder for the slaying of 29-year-od Timothy Thompson, Cops contend Gray shot Thompson in the chest and head in an walkway between a house and a garage used as a neighborhood shortcut near Stockton Street and First Avenue on June 9th. Prosecutors are expected to contend this was a related to an earlier drug rip-off. Detective J.F. Taylor's criminal complaint says that Thompson's cell phone was found on his body and that multiple text messages had been sent and received from Gray. In an 11th hour pre-trial hearing, Taylor was asked if he coerced information from Gray. "Do you recall that he was told he could spend the rest of his life in prison and the jury was going to be watching this? <> " It's a possibility. I just don't recall. " < > " Do you recall him being told to be a f--king man and that he was told you're being a little b--tch twice? " < > "Yes, I advised him of that! " Judge Jim Stucky ruled that at least the information obtained in the three hour interrogation about the phone would be admissible. Lawyers were told to instruct Thompson's family not to bring a large picture of him back into the courtroom with the jury present. Jury selection was pushed back to 9:30 Tuesday morning while the judge reviewed the more than three hour interrogation tape. MORE NEWS FROM EYEWITNESS NEWS
