Investigators tell Eyewitness News, Premier Pools was the last company to work on the heating unit.
We're told the Holiday Inn Express called JP Mechanical, a Dunbar based business, to come and look at the pool heating unit. The owner of JP Mechanical tell us he came to the hotel and condemned the old unit, but didn't do any actual work on it.
Investigators say the Holiday Inn Express ordered a new pool heating unit, and then called Barboursville based Premier Pools to do the work. We spoke with the owner, Steve Combs, early on in the investigation; and he told us that he "didn't play a vital role in the installation of the new pool heating unit.
On the Holiday Inn Express' website, it says their pool is closed until April.
Investigators say they are working on writing their final report now. We should expect to see that final report come out, with all the details of the investigation, next week.
