Set in 1934..."Lend Me A Tenor" is a series of mistaken identities, wrong assumption, slamming doors and plot twists.
A renowned opera singer is set to perform a benefit concert...but a misunderstanding leads to his wife leaving him...and a double dosage of tranquilizers.
A replacement steps in for the dozing star..but trouble begins when the singer wakes up. Now there are two men playing one role.
"Lend Me A Tenor" debuted in the West End section of London in 1986 and made its Broadway premiere three years later.
It's a fast-paced comedy about a musical...that doesn't have much singing.
First-time director Devon Nuckles is staging the production, which is filled with physical humor and a bit of innuendo.
"Lend Me A Tenor" takes place at the Kanawha Players Theater at 309 Beauregard Street in Charleston.
