A Fayette County man has been convicted of sexually abusing his nieces over 20 years ago.
A jury convicted Laurence Smith of three counts of both sexual abuse and sexual abuse by a custodian.
Prosecutors say Smith was baby-sitting the girls, who ranged in ages from seven to eleven when the crimes happened.
The crimes happened in 1988, but the victims didn't come foreword until 2010. Prosecutors say the want other victims to know that there is no statute of limitations on felony crimes in West Virginia.
