The man charged in the West Side shooting said: " I'm saying I didn't do it! " Douglas Wesley, Junior also known on the street as Dougie Fresh or Fresh got busted for attempted murder after he called Sgt. Keith Peoples to surrender Tuesday.
Wesley had been sought for allegedly shooting Larry Crews twice with a small caliber pistol early Sunday morning outside a bar on Central Avenue. Court documents say the victim--who took two 25 caliber hits--said that a man he knew only as " Dougie" shot him during a robbery attempt.
Crews said when he tried to punch his assailant he was struck in the face with the gun and then shot as he tried to run. Crews picked Wesley out of a photo array.
Wesley also faces two counts of wanton endangerment for allegedly firing a shot through Crews vehicle with Yolinda Moore and Teresa McCarnel inside. He's jailed on a 100-thousand dollar cash only bond.
